encyclopaedia

I will choose Encyclopaedia Brittanica.

First,I will talk about the accuracy. The accuracy is the most important factor.Wikipedia is a place that everyone of us can share the ideas. But not everyone of us is an expert. It is very often to see the wrong information from Wikipedia.Encyclopaedia Brittanica ,like Wikipedia, have new and updated information. However, Encyclopaedia Brittanica is more accurate than Wikipedia.

If someone study the wrong things and belive in them it could be very dangerous. Not everyone of us have a good judgement. The wrong information may be pass on to the next generation. The cost of running the online Encyclopaedia Brittanica may be higher than Wikipedia. But it is worth spending money at all cost.

Second,I will talk about the languages used.Wikipedis is in many languages.Encyclopaedia Brittanica is in English which is an international language. It is easy to understand .And  it can be translated into different languages.

  1. Although we cannot guarantee the accuracy of Wikipedia, I still think that it is better than Encyclopaedia Brittanica.Because everyone include those specialists can access Wikipedia to correct the wrong information. Also, some staffs will monitor the posted information. If there are some incorrect information, those staffs or users will edit them immediately.
Besides, there are many version of Wikipedia, for example, there are Chinese version, English version.etc.Thus, everyone in the world can read the information in Wikipedia. It is convenient to use.

  2. I believe the accuracy of Wikipedia is constantly changing- for the better. Many professionals frequently check Wikipedia's articles for accuracy, allowing the readers free access to accurate information. In the video we watched about Wikipedia, I remember the developer stating that there is a community of about 600-1000 people who constantly check facts on Wikipedia.
I am also going to have to agree with kawaiwong about the convenience of Wikipedia's multiple languages. Although English is an international language many people find reading his or her own language easier, especially in academic readings. I believe that the different languages of Wikipedia actually make it more convenient than Encyclopaedia Brittanica.

  3. Thanks for your comments.Wikipedia is very popular because it is so easy to access. I wonder if some students study the wrong information of Wikipedia. It will have some effects on them. From my personal experiences, when I sumbit an essay referencing the wikipedia, the teachers did not accept it.
